I've always been humbled when someone asks for my autograph.  It still amazes me that my simple signature can boost someone's spirits, and I'm always happy to make somebody's day a little brighter.

I wonder how a stroke of the pen accomplishes all this.  Perhaps what means more than the ink on the paper is the time spent in giving a fan a little personal attention as a thank-you for their steadfast support of space exploration.  I appreciate your continued support and interest in human space flight and will fulfill your requests as quickly as possible.  Please be patient, though!  I may be out on an expedition for months at a time.
