Ocean City
By: Holly

One of my favoriate times is when I went to Ocean City and had the most fun of my life.  I went to the ocean, and I went to the board walk and got to ride a roller coster!  I had so much fun!  But, on the last day I was there, I was walking up the beach and I went up a lifegroud's chair, and I fell off and broke my arm.  It hurt so bad.

Flour
By: Jesse
Hometown: Haskell, Oklahoma

A year ago, when I was baking brownies, it called for a half cup of flour.  Unfortunately, I was mistaking the 1/2 for one-and-a-half cups of flour.  It called for so many ingredients, and I put in a whole cup more than I was supposed to of the flour.  It ruined the whole batch, and so many ingredients!  But I learned that when the recipe says 1/2, it doesn't mean 1-and-a-half.  I have never made that mistake again.

The End of the World
By: Scarlett
Hometown: Indiana

In the year 2000, we thought the world might end, so we bought a bunch of stuff.  Then me and my family and friends all had a big party.  And what do you know--the world never ended.

Parcours
Hometown: Bethesda, Maryland

My favorite adventure is the time I when on a "parcours" in France.  You go into the trees and do a sort of obstcle course, but you have a harness, so you can't fall.  But it SEEMS like you can fall, and it's terrifying!

Zip-lining
By: Addie
Hometown: Fairfax, Virginia

I went zip-lining in my backyard, and my dog grabbed onto me. He crashed into my neighbor's dog Angus!

Tubing
By: Kamryn
Hometown: Winchester, California

In March, 2006, me and my family went tubing down a river with some other people from Camp Elim. It was great and all, until the hailstorm showed up. We were going down the river in innertubes in the middle of a hailstorm, and there was lightning going off overhead. This one girl's mom fractured her knee.

True story. Adventure Meter, 1-10, this equals about a 9.

Philharmonic

The time I went to the Buffalo Philharmonic for a play.

Truth or Dare
By: Danelle
Hometown: Austin, Texas

Once upon a simple, monotonous school day, I was lying on my stomach on the school carpet when my friend, Kendra, asked, "Let's play Truth and Dare, Danelle."

I grinned mischievously. "Why not?"

But before I had a chance to call first, she chirped, "Truth or Dare?"

I thought for a while, then told her, ""Dare!"

Now it was her turn to think. Finally, she looked me directly in the eyes and whispered... "Danelle, I dare you to cut off all your bangs!"

Without thinking, I confidently reached for my pair of scissors...

From that day on I had learned my lesson: Dare isn't always the best kind of game!

A Sea World Roller Coaster
By: Lesli
Hometown: Kansas City, KS

April 2008 (San Antonio, TX)   My Dad and I were watching people go up and down the rollercoaster called the Steel Eel.  It was a yellow rollercoaster, and my Dad said we should check it out.  We went to see what the height limit was, and fortuanatly, I was tall enough!  When we had gotten in the seats, my Dad asked me if it was to late to chicken out.  I assured him that it was.  Suddenly the announcer said it was time for launching!  My Dad grabbed a hold of me, and off we went, down a huge hill.  It went up and down, and I was closing my eyes all the way.  It was the funnest adventure I ever had!

Hiking Down a Ski Mountain
By: JJ
Hometown: Killingworth, CT

We had just woken up to a gorgeous morning in Taos New Mexico (we were on vacation) and our friends decided to take us to the on a hike down a ski mountian.  Once we arrived, our moms (their mom and ours) got us tickets that allowed us to take the ski lift up.  My sister and I hadnt been on one before, so it was our first time.  We weren't scared at all and on our way up we sang to random people!  Then it was the hard part..... hiking down it.  It took us hours and the scenery was beautiful!  I'm glad to say that we sucessfully made it!  If you are an avid hiker youve gotta try hiking down a ski mountian in New Mexico!  Bring lots of water!  Bye peeps of the future!

Two Wishing Stars
By: Unknown
Hometown: Unknown

One day, I was following my dog lucky, and he found a dark hole--deep too.  Suddenly Lucky jumped, and I was so scared I didn't even think before I jumped in with Lucky.  It felt like I was falling forever.  Things flew past my head.  My hair was spinning with wind, and I felt a bump.  I made it to the bottom unharmed, and Lucky was sitting there waiting for me.  He barked and ran ahead, and the dearkness turned to light.  I found the most pretty lady (not as pretty as my mom, of course, but she was pretty).  She gave me two wishing stars.  I wished myself out of the dark hole and used the other one to wish for more wishes. :)

Our Coaches
By: Breanna Seale
Hometown: Orlando, FL

Just think!  The opportunity of a lifetime.  Our coachs proposed that if we raised 2000 dollars, then they would go kiss a pig.  And how funny they looked when they did!

Bahamas
By: Molly
Hometown: Erie,PA

One of my favorite things that I ever did was go to the Bahamas.

My family and I stayed at this resort called Atlantis.  They had everyhing from beautiful beaches to awesome waterslides.  The people were so nice there.  It was a great experience and my family and I had a lot of fun.  Maybe next time we go I can swim with the dolphins!

Camp Concern
By: David (13 years old)
Hometown: Center Township, PA

Summer 2008   Camp Concern is a camp for Christians to go to during the summer.  I expected to have a lot of fun there, and I really did.

It seemed like every day was an adventure.  The first day was the toughest because I had to figure out where everything was.  Once I did, I could relax a little…but just a little.  It was hard to remember where every thing was.

Getting up at 0600 was hard.  The siren was our reveille, which went off at 0820, but my friend had a horrible habit of waking up at 0600 every morning.  Therefore, I had to wake up at 0600 every morning.  Of course I didn’t like that (who would?), so one morning, my friends and I retaliated by waking him up at 0330.  We went back to bed, and sure enough he didn’t wake us up at 0600.  He gave us till 0630.

Every night, we had a campfire and could chat and relax.  There was so much to do that we stayed up until 11pm most nights.  Volleyball tournaments were a blast with a lot of laughter.  It was an unintentional comedy show, unfortunately at my expense.  For some reason, my depth perception failed me, and I ran right into the net.  At least I hit the ball, but a lot of good that did.  My teammate was laughing so hard, he couldn’t hit the ball over the net.

The scariest thing for me was raising the flag for the first time.  After watching the flag raisers on previous mornings get the flag stuck, I was afraid that that would happen to me, too.  But my friends and I pulled on the ropes with all our might, and the flag went up.

The most exciting thing that happened was the talent contest, but not because of the talent.  Don’t get me wrong, the talent was pretty good, but the band performance at the end was awesome, mostly because I knew half of the people in the band.  They were our camp counselors, and they sounded really good.

Day 6 was the day we had to leave.  It was very sad.  On my adventure scale, Camp Concern was a 7 out of 10...an absolute blast!

Class Feild Trip!!!!!!
By: Hannah (9 years old)
Hometown: Aliquippa, PA

Fall 2008   For my class field trip, we went to the Carnegie Science Center.  Before we left, one of my friends picked me to be her buddy.  When we got there we first saw a movie of what it was like something like millions of years ago when dinosaurs roamed and where there were animals in the water that are now extinct.

This is how the story went:  There was this animal’s mother, who died very slowly after it got bitten by a shark.  Then the brother died because it got eaten by another animal and the female lived till her kids got older and moved on.  She lived till she got so old that she just fell down and never lived again.

After the movie, we went to the amusement part of the museum and played some games and then we went and saw some animal bones (and that was cool).  Then we went to eat lunch.

After we had lunch, we went back to the games and played some more.  There was this game that you posed and when you where done you got to see your pose.  There was one more thing.  It was a news game and you got to pick a weather report and when it was your turn you got to say stuff like where it happened.  It was so neat!  After that we got ready to go home.

Pittsburgh Zoo
By: Matthew (6 years old)
Hometown: Center, PA

Fall 2008   For my class trip, I went to the Pittsburgh Zoo.  The first thing we saw was the monkeys.  After we saw the monkeys, we saw giraffes. Then I saw the zebras, then the sharks.  Then we went to eat lunch.  After we ate lunch, we saw polar bears, and after that, the otter.  Then we went home.
